Today is the Sankranti day..the festival to spread sweetness with Til-Gul (sesame seeds and jaggery)
So lets learn quick and easy til-gulachi poli (flat bread stuffed with sesame seeds and jaggery mix)
Ingredients:
1 cups whole wheat flour
3-4 tbsp grated jaggery
1/4th cup white sesame seeds
3-4 almonds
2 tbsp melted ghee
a pinch of salt
1 tbsp oil
Preparation:
1. Add salt to the wheat flour and knead well into a firm dough, using enough water
2. Apply oil to the dough and knead well again. Keep aside for 10 mins
3. Mix sesame seeds, jaggery and almonds and grind to fine powder in mixture bowl (Do not roast sesame seeds) This is the filling for til-gulachi poli
4. Divide the dough in equal portions
5. With rolling pin, flatten each portion of dough and stuff 1tbsp filling of sesame seeds, jaggery and almond prepared. Close from all sides and gently roll in a shape of roti
This is how the rolled roti looks like
6. Heat a tava (griddle) and cook each roti over a medium flame till both sides are golden brown, applying little amount of ghee when on tava itself
Serve hot!
